Dr. Bob Sears

Robert W. Sears, MD, is Dr. Bill's second son. Board-certified in Pediatrics, he is in private practice with his father and his brother, Dr. Jim, in San Clemente, CA. "Dr. Bob", as he likes to be called by his little patients, earned his medical degree at Georgetown University School of Medicine in 1995. He did his pediatric internship and residency at Children's Hospital Los Angeles, finishing in 1998. Dr. Bob is the proud father of three active boys, Andrew, age 13, Alex, age 10, and Joshua age 4. He and his wife, Cheryl, reside in Dana Point, CA. Having had the privilege to help raise three active boys, Dr. Bob has grown fond of the "parenting" side of pediatrics. He especially enjoys talking to parents in his practice about the joys, and trials, of watching their little babies and toddlers thrive through the first several years of life. Dr. Bob has appeared on the Dr. Phil show to offer advice on child behavior and parenting issues. He has also appeared on the Ellen DeGeneris show and has appeared on CNN's House Call with Dr. Sanjay Gupta to offer advice to first time fathers. He is a regular guest on "A Place of Our Own" on PBS, helping parents and caregivers understand a variety of child health issues. Dr. Bob is a frequent speaker at La Leche League conferences, including Colorado, Texas, and California/Nevada. Dr. Bob has written for Contemporary Pediatrics and Newsweek Japan. Cheryl Sears, Dr. Bob's wife, is an active La Leche League leader, helping countless new moms in the community to successfully breastfeed their babies. Dr. Bob is co-author of The Updated Baby Book, The Premature Baby Book, The Baby Sleep Book 2005 and author of Father's First Steps: 25 Things Every New Dad Should Know and an active contributor to the content of AskDrSears.com. In his spare time Dr. Bob enjoys surfing the California waves, mountain biking, playing bass guitar with his teenage son guitarist, and trying to keep up with his three children.

 

Dr. Ann Corwin

Dr. Ann has 25 years experience in parenting consulting and child development education. With a Ph.D. in Marriage, Family and Child Therapy and Masters Degree in Education, she has made it her life's work to design and develop programs to ensure the health of families. She has appeared in television on KCET-A Place of Our Own, COX, and call-in consulting with viewers. She has lectured extensively nationally to conferences of educational and health care professionals. In addition, her work has been published in Journals, Childbirth Instructor Magazine, and newspapers across the country.

Known as an authority in her field, she has worked with national groups such as; Mothers of Preschoolers, Boot camp for New Dads, Lamaze International, Parents as Teachers, Preschools, Child Abuse Prevention agencies, Early Head Start Programs, and First 5 Children and Families Commission. She also designed, "Toddler Talk" a series for parents and children ages 1-3 years old. In 2002, Dr. Ann released "SOLVE" Parenting Problems, the toddler years. She is currently working on the release of her book and DVD..."It's all about me!" for 2006.

Dr. Ann's focus has always been on prevention and helping families learning to help themselves!  She has helped thousands of parents - with children ages birth to five years and beyond - with issues such as hitting and biting, respect and discipline, poor sleeping habits, relationships and school, toilet learning, new siblings and sibling rivalry, separation anxiety and much more!

Ann and her husband of 29 years have two children.

 

Ani Shabazian

After graduating from UCLA with a BA in Psychology and History and a minor in Applied Developmental Psychology, Ani Shabazian continued her studies at Harvard Graduate School of Education receiving a Masters in Human Developmental Psychology. She then returned to UCLA and received an MA/Ph.D. in Urban Schooling at UCLA’s Dept. of Education.  Currently, Ani Shabazian holds a dual appointment.  She is the Executive Director of the UCLA Infant Development Program, which serves children ages 3 months to 3 years of age.  In addition to oversight responsibilities of the two UCLA Infant Development Program childcare sites, this position involves setting admissions and course standards for the Applied Developmental Psychology (ADP) minor, selecting students into the ADP minor, and teaching the core undergraduate courses in the minor. 

 

Sharon Pieters

Sharon Pieters consults with parents who are facing the day-to-day challenges that parents face when raising their little loved ones. After her contract on the Fox television show "Nanny 911," she decided to create her own parenting business, Child Minded, and bring her teaching and parenting skills to Moms and Dads who can use a helping hand.
Sharon has a unique and innate ability to capture the essence of each individual child.  Because of this, children become open to working with her. It's a talent honed through years of experience working with families in both the United States and England.
Sharon's 10 years of experience helping parents with their children ranging from newborns to teenagers has always netted positive results. It is due to Sharon’s keen observations and first-hand experience that has enabled Sharon to develop her winning formulas for parents.
Sharon holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Science and currently resides in Los Angeles, California.

Sharon believes that children thrive on structure and she can help you give your child/children structure and an organized living environment.
